When you come into Donovaly from Ružomberok you cannot fail to miss the dominant feature by the Nová hoľa cablecar car park - at 14m high the highest climbing wall in Slovakia. Climbing walls are a favourite in the world of mountaineering not only for hardcore climbers but also for amateurs of all ages, which is why such an attraction could not be missing from our adrenaline centre.

Part of the climbing wall is a platform which is also a safe way to enter the neighbouring rope centre.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ARTIFICIAL
CLIMBING WALL

The climbing wall is intended only for free climbing training, climbing training within physical education classes as well as for the purpose of competitions.
  • Participant of a training: participant of a training is each person which takes part either in climbing or in belaying or stays within the area of the climbing wall
  • Professional supervision (a crew): professional supervision may be done by people listed in the attached list (an instruktor, a trainer or a person authorized by the entrepreneur)
  • Entrepreneur:

AT HIS OR HER OWN RISK

People under the age of 15 may undergo the training only under the direct supervision of an adult!

Each participant of the training is obliged to confirm by his or her signature thet he ore she has got familiar with the Operating Instructions and that he or she will obey all of its rules. All participants are also obliged to follow the instructions of the professional supervision (the crew) and abide by the rules of safe climbing:
  • In the case of climbing which requires belaying (safeguarding), a training participant is obliged to use only such climbing equipment which has the UIAA certificate, these are: ropes with the diameter of 9.9 – 12 mm with an undamaged rope braid, harness, qiuckdraws, locking carabiners and other belaying equipment. Proper climbing shoes must not damage the surface of the wall.
  • Before climbing which requires belaying, a climber is obliged to protect himself/herself by tying a knot according to the UIAA norms – Alpine Butterfly Knot, Figure of Eight Knot. To tie on the rope by means of a carabiner id forbidden.
  • Solo climbing (without a safeguard) is allowed only in case of bouldering up to 2.5 meters.
  • While climbing, a climber must not turn off the route. Two climbers cannot climb one route simultaneously. ONE BELAYER CANNOT SAFEGUARD TWO CLIMBERS SIMULTANEOUSLY!
  • A belayer is obliged to safeguard for the whole period of climbing including lowering the climber. A belayer is also obliged to snap and take the rope in a manner that would minimize the length of a potential fall. A belayer must catch a fall in a way that would not mean any harm to the climber, as well as other participants of the training or in a way that would lead to the damage of the wall or the equipment. The fall must be always caught with a slip of the rope (i.e. dynamically).
  • People who are not climbing or belaying are not allowed to stay at the base of the wall.
  • For climbing, use only the installed holds: do not use the edge of the wall!
  • Adjusting the routes is allowed only after consulting the crew.
  • If you find out that a hold or a piece of other equipment is loosened it is necessary to ensure that there are no people who could suffer any harm below the spot.
  • It is forbidden to eat, drink and smoke within the premises.
  • Each participant of the training is obliged to behave in a way that would not lead to harm and a restriction of any other participant. In case of injury, each participant is obliged to give first aid and call emergency immediately.
  • If you find out that any participant does not obey the Operating Instructions, you are obliged to inform him or her about the rules. If the undisciplined participant does not obey the rules after he or she has been informed it is necessary to inform a member of the crew.
  • The entrepreneur and any member of the crew are entitled to order out each one who breaks the rules of the Operating Instructions at any time: in this case, the participant will not be given back the entrance money.
  • The entrepreneur is entitled to change the rules of the Operating Instructions if it is necessary. The Operating Instructions, which are available to the public (they are put up visibly), are binding for everybody who stays within the premises of the climbing walls.
